Communication

Mail should be addressed directly to the ship’s agent in the different ports of call or to the company's head office.

You will receive a list of all port agents before or upon joining the ship.

Mail should be addressed as follows:

- Your name

- Your crew number/position

- Name of the vessel

- Name and address of agent

Incoming crew mail is distributed to each department onboard.

Telephone and Fax

Due to the fact that phone calls and faxes go through a satellite, calls are usually more expensive that what you are

used to on land. Rates differ greatly and start at around $ 2.50 up to $ 12.00 per minute. It is more economical to

make phone calls ashore using phone centers or a calling card.

E-Mail

Some ships have recently added crew e-mail. Inquire with the recruitment agent if the ship has e-mail.
